Tom Thumb, a character rooted in English folklore and first published in 1621, holds the distinction of being the earliest known fairy tale printed in English. This tale gained further acclaim through Charles Sherwood Stratton, affectionately known as "General Tom Thumb," an American performer with dwarfism who captivated audiences under the famed circus pioneer, P.T. Barnum—renowned as the Greatest Showman.
The story of Tom Thumb imparts a powerful lesson: never let your perceived weaknesses hinder your path. Despite facing the challenges of his small stature, Tom Thumb embraced his circumstances, using his wit and determination to triumph over adversity.
At the Tom Thumb Theatre, we are committed to making the arts accessible for everyone, regardless of age, gender, or ability.
