Phoebe Ladenburg- Head of Theatre Development

The Tom Thumb Theatre is a family run arts hub by the sea in the heart of Cliftonville, Margate. Originally built as a coach house in Victorian times, the building was transformed into one of the smallest theatres in the world in 1984. The Tom Thumb is a striking mix of Japanese and Alpine Architecture, with a charming interior of velvet seats and flocked wallpaper.

At the Tom Thumb we aim to be a springboard for emerging talent and a laboratory for more established artists to experiment with new work. We programme a wide range of work including theatre, music, film, comedy, poetry and cabaret and pride ourselves on working closely with the community and minority groups.

The Tom Thumb is a safe space where no discrimination of any kind is tolerated.
