As a family we decided to pool resources, raise money and purchase The Tom Thumb Theatre in May 2009.

With the help of friends, we spent the summer refurbishing the venue and installing a comprehensive sound and lighting set up.

After a number of preview events - including storytelling evenings and a play in a week scheme for local children - we officially re-opened our doors in December with our launch show 'A Dreamland Sideshow Christmas'. The show was produced by our in-house creative team, The Tom Thumb Players, in association with Writer/Director Timothy Trimingham-Lee. We were delighted with the response to the show which featured in local and national press, on the television and the radio. We received fantastic reviews and incredible support from the local community.

We are still at the very start of our journey. This is a brand new venture. We are in the process of programming a wide range of activities including plays, new writing, storytelling, puppetry, live music, lectures and open mic evenings. We are keen to continue providing Drama Workshops for local children and to build on the success of our Christmas Show with more original work from the Tom Thumb Players.
